Optical retailer National Vision (NASDAQ: EYE) will be announcing earnings results this Wednesday before the bell. Here’s what investors should know.

National Vision beat analysts’ revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $503.4 million, up 15.1% year on year. It was an exceptional quarter for the company, with a beat of analysts’ EPS and EBITDA estimates.

This quarter, the market is expecting National Vision’s revenue to grow 6.8% year on year, improving from the 5.7% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year.

The majority of analysts covering the company have reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. National Vision has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates multiple times over the last two years.

Looking at National Vision’s peers in the consumer retail segment, some have already reported their Q1 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Tractor Supply delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 3.6%, missing analysts’ expectations by 1.1%, and CarMax reported flat revenue, topping estimates by 3.9%. Tractor Supply traded down 13.1% following the results while CarMax was also down 17.5%.
