The extension works with a single click and requires no configuration or setup after installation. After installing it, a user opens any webpage, clicks the Link Highlighter icon, and selects “Highlight Links on This Page.” Every link on the page is then instantly color-coded, with internal links, meaning links that stay on the same website, shown in pink, and external links, meaning links that lead to a different website, shown in yellow.
A running count of each link type is displayed alongside the highlighted page, and a “Clear Highlights” option removes the coloring to restore the page's original appearance without needing to reload it.
The tool is intended for content editors, SEO reviewers, and site auditors who need a quick visual read on a page's linking structure without manually checking each hyperlink one at a time, a process that can otherwise require hovering over or clicking through individual links to determine their destination.
