Sutter Club Conference Updates Attendees on Latest Legislation Impacting Family-Owned Businesses

-- The Family Business Association of California is holding its 14th Annual Capitol Conference here next month with Pat Soldano, President, Family Enterprise USA, as a featured speaker.

The May 13 conference, held at The Sutter Club, features Soldano and other political experts providing insights and updates on the latest economic and tax policy legislation coming out of Washington, D.C., and how it is impacting family-owned businesses.

Soldano will also present new research from its Family Enterprise USA Annual Family-Owned Business 2026 Survey, where 710 family-owned business leaders from 46 states voiced their priorities, concerns, and trends for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.

Family-owned businesses contribute $7.7 trillion annually to the U.S. gross domestic product, accounting for 83.3 million jobs, or 59 percent of the country’s private workforce, according to research.

The Family Business Association of California advocates for California’s 1.4 million family-owned businesses employing 7 million people. It provides incentives for family businesses to create jobs and invest in California, proposes initiatives for change, defends against unfavorable legislation, and takes legal action to protect family-owned businesses.

The May 13 afternoon event will also feature discussions on policies impacting family businesses and following the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with legislators, fellow members, and sponsors at a networking reception in The Sutter Club’s Library Room.
