Essays should articulate each applicant's vision for improving patient outcomes through innovative treatment approaches, advanced technologies, or community-based care. Submissions must demonstrate how the applicant's experiences and values align with the mission of family medicine.

About Dr. Mark Armitage
Dr. Mark Armitage earned his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean and completed his family practice residency at Shenandoah Valley Family Practice Residency in Winchester, Virginia. Since 2002, Dr. Mark Armitage has practiced at Pelican Family Medicine in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mark Armitage has pursued specialized training in skin substitute wound care and diabetic neuropathy treatment using advanced neuromodulation technologies. Dr. Mark Armitage has also contributed to medical education by developing evidence-based medicine databases, inpatient databases, and orientation protocols for medical rotations.
