SRS Distribution president and CEO brings decades of growth, acquisition, and operational leadership experience to Groundworks.

Groundworks, North America’s leading foundation repair and water management solutions company, today announced the appointment of Dan Tinker, president and CEO of SRS Distribution, to its board of directors effective immediately.

Tinker brings nearly three decades of leadership experience in the building products industry. Throughout his career, he has successfully built high-performing businesses through strategic acquisitions, organic growth, and operational excellence while fostering a strong employee-centric culture that closely aligns with Groundworks' values and long-term vision.

“Dan is an accomplished leader who understands how to scale complex, service-focused organizations,” said Doug Sanders, CEO of Groundworks. “We’re excited to welcome him to the board and know he’ll provide tremendous value as we continue to expand our platform and strengthen our position as the industry's leading foundation services company.”

As president and CEO of SRS Distribution, Tinker transformed the company from a regional distributor to one of the nation's largest building products distributors. Under his leadership, SRS expanded to more than 1,300 locations through more than 100 acquisitions and over 180 greenfield openings before its $18.25 billion acquisition by The Home Depot in 2024, delivering significant value for investors and nearly 10,000 employee-owners.

“Rarely have I seen such a unique opportunity in the home services category. Similar to SRS, Groundworks is built on a unique, employee-centric culture. The growth of Groundworks is inspiring, and I am honored to join the board,” stated Tinker. “I am excited about the opportunity to work with them as they reshape a fragmented and underinvested industry. They are building something that hasn’t been done in this vertical, and the biggest winner is the customer. That is something I am proud to contribute to.”

Groundworks has grown rapidly over the past decade, creating a network of more than 90 offices and 7,500 employees across North America. As the company continues to grow, it remains focused on advancing career opportunities and strengthening the skilled trades workforce through its commitment to create 5,000 new skilled trades jobs over five years.
