Spirent Showcases Latest Advanced Ethernet Solutions at OFC 2025

1.6T, 800G and 400G validation solutions take to the show floor as AI continues to drive data demand

Spirent Communications plc (LSE:SPT), a leading provider of test and assurance solutions for next-generation devices and networks, will showcase its latest 400G, 800G, and 1.6T Ethernet validation solutions at the OFC 2025 Conference and Exhibition, in San Francisco, March 30 – April 3. As AI-driven workloads continue to fuel unprecedented demand for high-bandwidth, low-latency networking, Spirent’s cutting-edge test platforms will be on display to help the industry validate reliability, scalability, and interoperability for next-generation data centers, cloud providers, AI and machine learning infrastructures.

“The demand for high-speed, low-latency connectivity is continuing to accelerate as AI and hyperscale computing reshape modern networks, while at the same time AI is imposing unique demands on networks” said Aniket Khosla, vice president of wireline product management at Spirent. “With 800G adoption accelerating and 1.6 Terabit speed on the horizon, we’ll be demonstrating to OFC attendees how Spirent is enabling the ecosystem to seamlessly transition to these higher speeds by delivering trusted, high-performance Ethernet validation.”

The networking industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by the rise of AI workloads and the need for new AI back-end networks to connect an ever-increasing number of accelerators in large AI clusters. According to Dell’Oro Group, spending on network switches deployed in AI back-end networks is forecasted to nearly double the total data center switch addressable market by 2029. InfiniBand currently dominates AI back-end networks, but Dell’Oro expects Ethernet to gain significant market share over the next five years, with the majority of switch ports deployed in AI back-end networks anticipated to be 800G in 2025 and 1.6T by 2027.

At OFC 2025, Spirent will showcase:

  • 1.6T test solutions that enable network equipment manufacturers and service providers to validate the highest levels of performance, lossless transport, and ultra-low latency.
  • The award-winning B3 800G Appliance, which is the industry’s first high-density 800G OSFP and QSFP-DD test platform supporting IEEE 802.3df specifications to accelerate AI-driven Ethernet adoption.
  • 400G test solutions designed to provide high-performance, cost-effective, and interoperable cloud-scale networking.
  • Spirent’s award-winning M1 Compact Appliance, a space-efficient platform for functional, performance, and benchmark testing in IP networking and automotive Ethernet applications.

Spirent’s test and validation solutions will be demonstrated with technology partners including the Ethernet Alliance (booth #5173), PICadvanced (booth #4311), and at Spirent’s booth #5180.

CIG Photonics Japan:

"High port count, cost-effective 800G test solutions with advanced equalization capabilities are needed for validating the performance of 800G Linear Pluggable Optics (LPO) and Linear-Receive Optics (LRO), also known as Transmit Retimed Optics (TRO) and Retimed Transmit Linear Receive (RTLR) optics. Spirent’s B3 800G Appliance is an industry-leading product that meets this critical need." – Kohichi Tamura, PhD, General Manager, CIG Photonics Japan.

ColorChip:

"ColorChip is pleased to collaborate with Spirent on our leading-edge 800G OSFP ACC cable. This partnership ensures seamless integration for testing and networking applications within data centers." - Yigal Ezra, CEO, ColorChip.

Eoptolink:

“1.6T modules will be widely adapted starting from 2025 as Ethernet switches with 200G per lane are entering the market. The verification of Eoptolink 1.6T and 800G modules in Spirent high-speed Ethernet appliances offer customers a validated solution. At 200G per lane, the matching of the high frequency signals to the host equipment is crucial and we are happy to support this interoperability demo.” - Sean Davies, VP of Sales, Eoptolink.

Infraeo:

"As high-speed interconnect demands continue to grow, ensuring reliability and performance is critical. Our collaboration with Spirent allows us to showcase our cutting-edge 1.6T ACC technology in a robust testing environment, validating its capabilities for next-generation AI and hyperscale data centers. Infraeo is committed to driving innovation in high-performance connectivity, and we’re excited to be part of the Spirent 800G and 1.6T ecosystem at OFC 2025.” - Rakesh Sambaraju, Executive Vice President, Infraeo.

MultiLane:

“MultiLane is pleased to maintain our collaboration with Spirent, which allows us to demonstrate both the impact our offerings and the maturity of a fully interoperable ecosystem. The industry is seeing increased demand for solutions that expedite testing without compromising results. MultiLane remains ahead of the curve on this front, with our passive and active loopbacks acting as a key foundation of the company’s value proposition: high-value, scalable solutions that provide rapid and comprehensive testing at the forefront of HSIO development.” - Rachad Samaha, General Manager, Data Center Test Solutions, MultiLane.

PICadvanced:

“Spirent M1 Traffic Emulator Appliance is an essential part to our proof-of-concept demo, allowing us to replicate real-world network traffic scenarios, verify throughput consistency, and showcase true, measurable high speeds with our transceivers. This provides clear evidence that 40Gbps broadband is not just a concept or a custom-built solution – it’s a reality today, achieved with commercially available, off-the-shelf components." - Francisco Rodrigues, CEO, PICadvanced.

TE Connectivity:

“TE’s high performance, low cost, low power copper cables are in high demand in today’s AI driven hyperscale deployments, while our 1.6T optical transceivers with DR optics are critical for the longer reach applications that cannot be served by copper solutions. As one of the industry’s leading suppliers of test equipment, our close working relationship with Spirent is invaluable in helping us validate our passive and active 800G and 1600G copper cable products.” - Mike Arsenault, Global Product Manager, External Cable Products, TE Connectivity.

It is critical for TE to have access to a strong test and measurement ecosystem as we develop a broad range of electrical and optical interconnect products for the next generation of higher data rates and we highly value having Spirent as a key member of that ecosystem.” - Ammar Riaz, Global Product Manager, Optics Product Portfolio, TE Connectivity.
