Ms. Cantrell began her career in 2013 at the Walton County District Attorney's Office, where she worked as an assistant district attorney, fulfilling her childhood goal of becoming a prosecutor, which she had been determined to reach since she was eight years old. In 2014, she worked as an associate attorney at the Estate Planning Law Group of Georgia, James M. Miskell, P.C. In this position, she gained invaluable knowledge in estate planning law that complemented her later work in criminal and civil law. In 2015, she transitioned to working as an assistant district attorney with the District Attorney's Office in Pickens County, where she remained until 2020. The primary focus of her work was on prosecuting child abuse cases. During her tenure in this position, she had one of her most profound experiences when a young victim expressed gratitude for Ms. Cantrell's belief in her, which highlighted the value of empathy and effective communication in law.

Before taking her current position at Underwood Scoggins, Ms. Cantrell furthered her legal knowledge in civil law and litigation as a magistrate court judge in Georgia from 2021 to 2025. Her tenure on the bench allowed her to hone her judicial skills and broaden her understanding of law beyond criminal cases.
