A Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating CBDV as an add-on therapy in adults with focal seizures found the compound was generally well tolerated but did not demonstrate efficacy against its primary endpoint, with a high placebo response observed. Other early small-scale trials have been encouraging but preliminary. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not approve any CBDV product to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
