New consumer resource spotlights published research on cannabidivarin, a lesser-known hemp cannabinoid drawing scientific interest in neurological studies.

-- Myriam’s Hemp announced an educational awareness initiative focused on cannabidivarin (CBDV), a non-intoxicating minor cannabinoid that has become a growing subject of scientific study. The initiative is designed to give consumers clear, accurate, science-based information about what researchers are, and are not, currently learning about CBDV.

CBDV is the propyl homolog of cannabidiol (CBD) and was first identified in 1969. Like CBD, it is non-psychoactive. Over the past decade, it has drawn attention from academic and pharmaceutical researchers examining cannabinoids in neurological contexts, with anticonvulsant activity reported across several preclinical models.

That early-stage interest, the company notes, comes with important caveats. Human research on CBDV remains limited and ongoing. A Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating CBDV as an add-on therapy in adults with focal seizures found the compound was generally well tolerated but did not demonstrate efficacy against its primary endpoint, with a high placebo response observed. Other early small-scale trials have been encouraging but preliminary. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not approve any CBDV product to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

"Consumers deserve straight, science-based information about emerging cannabinoids, including where the research is genuinely promising and where it is still unsettled," said Ingrid Ferris, Wellness Researcher and CBD Advocate at Myriam’s Hemp. "Our goal with this initiative is to point people to the published literature and to qualified healthcare providers, not to make promises the science hasn't earned."

The educational resource summarizes peer-reviewed findings, distinguishes preclinical research from human clinical evidence, and encourages anyone managing a medical condition such as epilepsy to consult a licensed physician before making any decision about cannabinoid products. The company emphasized that it is sharing information about the broader field of CBDV research and is not making claims about its own products.

Myriam’s Hemp says the initiative reflects its broader commitment to transparency and responsible communication in a category where consumer information is often inconsistent or overstated. More information is available at myriamshopehemp.com.
