Fitness Organization, Body & Soul Fitness, Answers The "Why Am I So Fat?" Question

Mesa, AZ - Body & Soul Fitness held its annual International Instructor RECHARGE™ Convention in Mesa, AZ, between September 30 and October 2. One of the sessions tackled by the team was the “Why Am I So Fat?” subject.

Speaker, Brian Bradley, VP of The Egoscue Method, asked the question, Is the issue “Fat or Phat?” and maintained that a chief cause of fat build-up is a lymphatic issue. He added that misaligned load joints or structural or muscle imbalances could cause lymphatic drainage issues.

In his explanation, he noted that the lymphatic superhighways often become congested, causing waste removal to clog the lymph intersection. This can then cause the body to retain toxic wastes.

His presentation further highlighted other things that could affect weight gain and weight loss, health and wellness, etc. Some key points from the presentation include;

  • The interconnection between hip function, metabolism, the lymphatic system, and weight loss
  • The function of the psoas muscle in addressing fat problems
  • The psoas muscle powers pumping action needed for moving fluids through tissue and cells
  • A properly engaged, supple, and unrestricted psoas can do its job in many of the functions related to weight, including the;
  1. control of adrenal gland production of cortisol which could build fat in the face, upper back, and abdomen,
  2. digestion and elimination,
  3. juncture at solar plexus affecting emotions, and
  4. impact on metabolic rate

“We agree with Brian as he stands in awe of our lymphatic design,” says Amy Stafford, President of Body & Soul Fitness.

“God has designed astounding systems within our body, and we at Body & Soul want to understand that perfect design and equip our instructors to help people preserve, strengthen, or even restore the body we were each given,” she added.
