The reigning champion enters his seventh season with Buggyra ZM Racing, at just 25 years old.
-- Téo Calvet, the dominant force in French truck racing, approaches 2026 with the composure of a man who has already won almost everything in his sport. At just 25 years of age, the French Buggyra ZM Racing driver holds four French Championship titles (2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025), a French Junior Championship (2019), 38 race wins, and 27 pole positions to his name. He is now preparing for his 10th season in the French championship, aiming to defend his title.

A field sharper than ever
Despite his status as the favorite, Téo is not underestimating the competition. Several teams used the winter break to develop new trucks and raise their game. In a discipline where points are hard-fought, any lapse in concentration can prove costly.
“The season is approaching fast, and I cannot wait to race once more in the French Truck Racing Championship. We have six races this year, and it will be really interesting because the competition is strong. There is no room for mistakes, as there are many points to be won per race. I think some of the competition improved even further during the winter break and have built new trucks. So we will have to stay focused and fight, and hopefully bring the title home once more,” said Téo about the upcoming season.
Dijon, an exciting unknown
The 2026 French truck racing championship will be contested over six rounds, opening at the end of April at the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois, a venue returning to the truck racing calendar after a 14-year absence. For Téo, it is entirely new territory. “The new race in Dijon will be interesting. I’ve never been there, not even as a spectator,” Téo explained.
Leaving nothing to chance, Téo is already putting in simulator hours ahead of an official test session at the Most circuit in the Czech Republic from 13 to 15 April, where he will reunite with his Buggyra ZM Racing team and his 1,200-horsepower Freightliner.
An exceptional record
Truck racing is a spectacular motorsport discipline in which purpose-built racing trucks weighing over five tons and producing up to 1,200 horsepower compete on conventional road circuits. Téo Calvet has been racing in the category since 2017, starting at just 17, and has been with Buggyra ZM Racing, one of Europe’s most decorated truck racing outfits, since 2020.
In 2022, the only season in which he scaled back his French program to focus on the European stage, Téo raced in just one domestic round, at Nogaro, and still collected 54 points out of a possible 60. He ended that campaign eighth in the overall FIA European Truck Racing Championship standings, underlining his pace at the highest level of the sport.
The season gets underway at Dijon-Prenois at the end of April. The trucks are back, and so is their champion.
