Researcher James E. Beecham today announced his discovery that the structure of the Universe repeats in a very specific patterned way. To clarify his point, he cites an analogy: ‘Consider your nose, now imagine it the size of the Earth. Yes, that’s a very big nose. Then imagine your nose the size of a galaxy – wow, even more impressive. But by seeing the same ‘nose’ pattern in each of those scales of the universe, that allows you to suggest a similar process might be occurring.’ Obviously, Beecham hasn’t found noses in space – but what he did find is a very similar pattern of corridors containing luminous objects in space.
Beecham’s discovery occurred when he compared scientific research from the 1950’s through to today. Specifically, he reviewed the Palomar Observatory’s Sky Survey of 1957, the Chandra Observatory space-telescope’s photos of a knotted black hole jet from 2012 to 2017, and a Cambridge-led team’s work published in 2025 regarding an enormous rotating Filament of the Cosmic Web.
‘I believe these similar patterns each constitute a corridor within space containing aligned luminous objects. We have transient spherical shapes in the terrestrial example from 1957 associated historically with atmospheric nuclear tests conducted at that time in Nevada, huge luminous masses in the black hole jet example, and glowing galaxies in the Cosmic Web’s enormous rotating filament. To me, this similarity in patterns hints at an organizational principle of nature.’ Beecham says he is continuing his research to learn more about how that principle operates.
