Machinist Exchange, an advanced platform for listing, marketing, and selling machining equipment has completed final beta testing and has gone live for general customer use.
The platform allows an owner of a used machine to list it on Machinist Exchange using one of several options for how the machine is sold. The platform allows for a basic listing with the proposed price visible to potential buyers, or with the price hidden, soliciting interest from buyers. Additionally, it is possible to create a live, real-time, auction for the sale of a machine. The auction options allow for an auction with or without a reserve price, a starting bid, the auction duration, and other settings. The auction performance is very similar to that used by eBay.
Upon conclusion of a sale on Machinist Exchange, the buyer can make payment using an escrow system. This escrow feature ensures that the seller is confident to ship the machine to the buyer, knowing the purchase amount is on deposit and controlled by the escrow service. The buyer can be confident that their money will not be released to the seller until they have received the machine and had 24 hours to inspect it. Once the buyer accepts the machine, the funds are released to the seller by the escrow system.
Additionally, Machinist Exchange offers a range of marketing products and packages to ensure that a machine is made visible and promoted to potential buyers. Some marketing products are offered directly through the Machinist Exchange platform and others through an affiliated marketing company Five Axis Marketing.
