In April 2022, the Company engaged Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc. for an evaluation of strategic alternatives. Summary of Financial Results for Third Quarter 2022

Net loss was $1.0 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2022.

Research and development expenses were $(18,000) and $0.2 million for the three months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, respectively. The decrease in research and development expenses was primarily due to a decrease in personnel expenses, including stock compensation.

General and administrative expenses were $1.4 million and $1.0 million for the three months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, respectively. The increase in general and administrative expenses was primarily due to a $0.6 million increase in expenses and fees related to the evaluation of strategic alternatives, offset by a decrease in personnel expenses, including the reversal of stock compensation, of $0.2 million.

As of September 30, 2022, the Company had cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities of approximately $5.2 million.
