Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Selects New Public Safety Software with Support from National Public Safety Group

Public Safety Software Consulting Firm Guides One of the Nation’s Largest Sheriff’s Offices Through Extensive Evaluation and Procurement of CAD, LERMS, and Jail Solutions

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office in California has selected new public safety software solutions following a rigorous, multi-phase evaluation with the help of National Public Safety Group (NPSG), a nationally recognized leader in public safety software consulting. The partnership underscores Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco and his staff’s commitment to getting this critical technology investment right through a structured, expert-driven approach.

Serving more than 2.4 million residents across 7,200 square miles and 15 contract cities, Riverside County Sheriff’s Office required a modern, next generation platform capable of supporting 24/7 emergency response, communications, records and detention operations at significant scale. Following a comprehensive evaluation, the agency selected Octave OnCall Dispatch computer aided dispatch (CAD), Octave OnCall Records records management system (RMS) and Tyler Technologies Enterprise Corrections jail management system (JMS).

NPSG leveraged its proven NPSG Operating System (NPSG-OS), phased approach to lead the Sheriff’s Office through Needs Assessment, Selection, and Procurement. The process helped the agency clearly define requirements, make informed decisions, and select the best solutions to provide high availability, flexibility, and functionality the agency needs moving forward.

“The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office operates in a highly complex environment with diverse requirements across a large region,” said Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco. “Partnering with a firm that specializes exclusively in public safety software made a meaningful difference. NPSG brought a team of professionals who understand both public safety operations and the technology behind it. Their structured approach helped us thoroughly vet our options and move forward with confidence in solutions that will support our mission for years to come.”

With the help of NPSG, the Sheriff’s Office’s evaluation process went beyond a traditional RFP to include detailed analysis, hands-on workshops, and in-depth vendor demonstrations to validate real-world performance against the agency’s requirements. NPSG’s vendor-agnostic approach ensured the process remained focused on the agency’s needs, helping reduce risk and protecting their long-term investment.

“Riverside County Sheriff’s Office set a high standard for how agencies should approach a public safety software project of this scale,” said Buck Mims, CEO of National Public Safety Group. “They conducted one of the most thorough evaluation processes we’ve seen, and we were proud to support them with the structure, expertise and resources needed to navigate this complex process while allowing their personnel to remain focused on their top priority of improving officer and public safety.”

NPSG will continue to work alongside Riverside County Sheriff’s Office providing Project Management services as the agency implements their new public safety software solutions.
