EE Times Unveils the 25th Edition of the Silicon 100: Spotlighting the World’s Most Promising Electronics and Semiconductor Startups

EE Times announced the release of the 25th edition of its annual Silicon 100 list, showcasing 100 of the most innovative and high-potential startups in the global electronics and semiconductor industries. This year’s list highlights the rapid evolution of quantum computing, the strategic pivot toward edge AI and groundbreaking advancements in photonics, among other transformative technologies.

The 25th edition of Silicon 100 features 41 newcomers alongside 59 retained startups from last year’s list, reflecting the dynamic nature of the industry. The list spans sectors such as data center AI, edge AI, photonic acceleration, quantum computing, semiconductor manufacturing, EDA and design services, analog and mixed-signal circuits, AI processors and IP, security, memory, optical communications, MEMS, sensors, displays, LiDAR, radar, RF, IoT, power semiconductors and power management.

Peter Clarke, the technology journalist who has curated the Silicon 100 since its inception in 2004, remarked:

"The Silicon 100 and the Silicon 60 before it has been shining a light on notable startups for 21 years and through 25 iterations. This year, we have seen a slight decrease in the number of startups engaged in AI and a jump in the number of startups engaged in quantum computing. However, there are also companies developing unconventional styles of computing that may be a sign of things to come."

Cyrus Krohn, vice president and global publisher of AspenCore, added:

"Silicon 100 draws a comprehensive picture of semiconductor technology trends. Selection is based on a mix of criteria, including technology, intended market, financial position, investment profile, maturity, and executive leadership. Silicon 100 is the go-to guide of who's who and what's up among electronics and semiconductor startups."

The Silicon 100 not only highlights innovation but also examines the interplay between market relevance, geopolitical shifts, and the resilience of startups in a polarized global economy.

EE Times invites readers to explore the full list and discover the startups challenging the status quo in electronics and semiconductors.
