'Future-Ready Commercial Facilities’ eBook equips companies with tools to decarbonize

As companies continue to set and strengthen sustainability goals, Black & Veatch, a leading global provider of critical infrastructure solutions, has developed Future-Ready Commercial Facilities, an eBook that details how companies can plan, design, and build their facilities to be net-zero.

Black & Veatch recommends an approach to sustainable facilities that includes planning for future retrofits of energy, communications, clean transportation and water use technologies. The eBook is a practical guide that helps companies understand what ‘future-ready’ facilities look like.

“With more companies committing to sustainability goals, Black & Veatch’s planning and design solutions are crucial to creating net-zero and decarbonized spaces,” said Fred Ellermeier, vice president of connectivity, commercial and industrial for Black & Veatch. “By looking toward the future, companies can effectively evolve to meet new standards and regulations while adapting to new technologies and climate change impacts.”

According to the U.S. Green Building Council, only 21% of current building stock is green, opening the door for real estate investors, developers and building owners. Green buildings include EV charging stations, integrated water/reuse systems, decarbonized energy such as solar, and digital technologies.
