ClearanceJobs Connect 2022 Brings Together Talent Acquisition and HR Professionals in the National Security Space

ClearanceJobs, a DHI Group, Inc. (NYSE: DHX) brand, hosted over 200 attendees in the security cleared recruiting community for ClearanceJobs Connect 2022.

Held in-person at the Hyatt Regency Reston, Connect 2022 provided a full day of networking, learning, and connecting with professionals working to fill the jobs that safeguard our nation. Registration nearly tripled since the conference’s inception in 2021. Sponsors including SIMS Software, GDIT, Paragon Systems, and the Northern Virginia Technology Council supported this gathering of national security and intelligence community hiring and security leaders.

Senior government officials from the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), National Counterintelligence and Security Agency, and Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals (DOHA) provided expert insight and updates into security clearance policies and procedures. The packed schedule also featured innovative cleared recruiting ideas shared by thought leaders in the national security community and defense industry. The afternoon was divided into two tracks – one for recruiters and one for security clearance professionals. The afternoon concluded with a networking mixer sponsored by Xcelerate Solutions.

“In light of our 20th anniversary and on the heels of the exceptionally successful Connect 2022, we celebrate the contributions of the ClearanceJobs family and the enormous efforts of those in the cleared recruiting space,” said Evan Lesser, ClearanceJobs’ founder and president. “Connect is a testament to the long-standing relationships that only a unique and trusted marketplace could foster. We are proud to lead the conversation around innovating the national security workforce.”

Matthew Scott, Senior Vice President at Avantus Federal and member of the Board of Trustees for the Intelligence and National Security Foundation (INSF), served as the event’s keynote speaker. He addressed the state of the industry and reflected on the growing importance of the intelligence community workforce in the threat landscape. Scott also spoke to the value of ClearanceJobs, saying, “It’s not just a platform. They invest in the community. And one of the ways that they invest in the community with us is by making sure we are talking about not just challenges, but opportunities out there. We are working as a team, as a community, to fix some of those challenges. For instance, the clearance process, how we find more diverse candidates, how we can make it easier…to move around within the community. Those conversations don’t necessarily happen unless someone in industry, like ClearanceJobs, steps up and facilitates a discussion like Connect.”

Bringing together voices across national security sectors is key to advancing the workforce. ClearanceJobs Connect brought voices and partnerships back into in-person connection to facilitate the forward-thinking ideas that will be needed to improve both security and hiring in the future.

“The relationship between General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) and ClearanceJobs is critical,” said GDIT’s Vice President of Security, Lisa Reidy, who participated in a panel of industry security leaders. “As an industry we share a common purpose, which is to bring the best talent to support our customers and our national security. The conference is an ideal platform for us to share information and to collaborate on innovative strategies to find the right people for the right jobs.”
