4th Annual Interfaith Summit Friday, October 29th at Southern Methodist University

Dallas, Texas Oct 26, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - The DFW Alliance for Religious Freedom ("Alliance") was formed with the belief that open and honest discussion is the gateway to understanding, and ultimately, more harmonious and prosperous society for all. For the past 3 years, the Alliance has brought together thought-leaders from across the globe to participate in an interfaith summit, predicated on the belief that human dignity acts as a bridge to bring together the fractured views and ideologies that inhibit the universal human right to believe, assemble, worship, and exercise faith in any form or fashion, including the choice to abstain from religious practice or belief.

Cofounder Bill Benac, "We believe that with inclusion comes understanding, and that empathy and respect for all leads to a common determination to seek ways that protect the basic human right to believe and exercise any faith, and to choose no religious belief or practice at all."

The 4th Annual Interfaith Summit for Religious Freedom and Human Dignity will be held on the campus of SMU at the Hughes-Trigg Student Center on Friday, October 29th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A free, live stream will also be provided through the Alliance website, YouTube, and Facebook Live.

There will be three plenary sessions with keynote speakers and panelists with morning and afternoon breakout sessions. Speakers included interfaith leaders, federal judges, legal experts, legislators, educators and students, journalists, corporate executives, foundation heads, and religious leaders from a multitude of faith traditions.

Topics to be discussed include human dignity, accepting differing views, civics, trending legal issues, equality and fairness, founders and the constitution, religious freedom in business, outreach to Gen-Z, and interfaith and community relations.

Keynote speakers include the President of SMU, R. Gerald Turner, retired Federal Judge - U.S. Court of Appeals, Thomas B. Griffith, Legal Director for the National Center for Lesbian Rights, Shannon Minter, Director of the International Center for Law and Religious Studies at BYU, Brett Scharffs, the Legal Director for the Sikh Coalition, Amrith Kaur Aakre, and many more.

The summit is open to everyone, regardless of faith tradition (including none), gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or political views.
