BidHuddle poised to transform the way homeowners and contractors connect

By: Get News
Homeowners stand to profit from their requests for proposals, while local service professionals can zero in on the projects and clients they want to pursue.

New startup BidHuddle is set to change how homeowners find the right contractors for home-service projects like windows, doors, and roofs — and how professional contractors market their services to potential customers.

With the home-improvement industry booming, many homeowners are turning to online platforms to help them make fast and trustworthy connections with local service professionals. However, many of these sites offer little more than misleading ads designed to capture personal data that can be sold and resold to unscrupulous contractors who aggressively solicit customers.

“The whole process is broken,” says James Wilcox, CEO of BidHuddle. “With current online options, homeowner data is essentially the product these sites sell. Consumers often unknowingly provide this data to these companies free of charge, with no reward or compensation exchanged. We aim to change that. Our platform assists homeowners in providing some brief details on the scope of work that is needed which BidHuddle packages and sells to contractors with a goal of compensating the homeowner. In an industry that already sees its fair share of online complaints, it is critical that we improve trust and transparency in the service-quoting process.”

Homeowners enter project details quickly and easily about their scope of work — and get paid for it. Behind the scenes, BidHuddle processes the request and markets the project directly to local service professionals that have been vetted and preapproved to complete specific jobs. When a contractor browses local projects in the marketplace and views details of a service they can complete, they pay a fee to BidHuddle to connect directly with the homeowner. BidHuddle then shares a percentage of that fee with the homeowner who submitted their project request.

How does BidHuddle work?

“A homeowner creates a Huddle (service request) on the web at https://bidhuddle.com by providing pictures of their site, details about the job, and the timeframe in which they wish to have it completed,” Wilcox says. “The uploading and submission process takes less than 5 minutes.”

From there, BidHuddle assigns a price to the Huddle by determining what an average marketing cost might be for a contractor to acquire that specific customer. If a professional contractor pays that cost to BidHuddle, they can instantly connect with that homeowner, schedule an appointment, and provide an estimate for the job described.

Best of all: BidHuddle shares a portion of the contractor’s Huddle fee with the homeowner. With BidHuddle, contractors save on marketing costs by directly targeting valuable customers who need services in their location, and homeowners benefit from connecting with highly skilled professionals and getting a cut of the action.

Where is BidHuddle available?

BidHuddle’s beta version launched in Sarasota, Fla., and is currently serving homeowners and professional contractors throughout Florida and elsewhere on the East Coast. BidHuddle plans to expand service offerings into additional markets in 2022.
