Levittown, New York – May 17, 2021 – It is no secret that Cricket is rapidly gaining in popularity. Eisenhower Park was in sore need of permanent Cricket Pitches. Until now, teams played on portable pitches they transported to the park.

During a recent interview, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran made these comments, “After soccer, cricket is the most watched and most played sport in the world and in Nassau County we are welcoming and supporting the game with great enthusiasm – along with the rapidly growing South Asian community.”

Senator Kevin Thomas made these comments, “As the first Indian-American Senator in New York, I recognize how important the sport of cricket is to the thriving South Asian community we have here on Long Island.” He went on to say, “I am proud to see the addition of cricket pitches to Eisenhower Park — yet another great place for people to get outside, engage in our community, and have fun.”

Ajith Bhaskar is the USA Cricket Board Current Director and has been a substantial force behind the push to have Cricket established as a main-stream sport. Over the years, Ajith Bhaskar worked hard to nurture and grow Cricket in the New York area. His capacity and commitment to serve the sport is unquestionable. Ajith has been extremely aggressive in acquiring ground, promoting Cricket for youth, and finding sponsors for leagues and clubs.

Managing a large league like Commonwealth Cricket League is a mammoth task. With Ajith’s leadership, he is setting up the right policies and rules to run the tasks smoothly. He is a good allrounder and has been playing cricket for more than 25 years and still plays in his leisure time. Nobody can deny that due to the outreach effort by Ajith Bhaskar, Cricket awareness has increased amongst Long Island and N.Y. politicians, community residents, corporate executives, and school boards. They are now considering providing the necessary infrastructure for Cricket in Long Island.

Hiren Chauhan is the founder and owner of Empire State Titans, a Minor Cricket Team League. He has invested considerable time and energy to further the sport in New York State. At a recent press event, Hiren said, “The Minor League team for New York State is an initiative towards helping young Cricketers to develop their skills in a professional environment.”

He went on to say, “The passion for Cricket is growing in America, and the Empire State Titans is an excellent platform for talent to acquire a purpose. We will ensure to provide proper training and professional support to our players as well as help them to develop a winning attitude.”
