Maranda Teutsch Wins Morris Bart Anti-Distracted Driving Scholarship

The Columbia College Chicago student will receive $2,500.

NEW ORLEANS, LA, September 27, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Morris Bart, LLC, the New Orleans-based personal injury law firm, has announced the 2022 winner of its Anti-Distracted Driving Scholarship. Soon-to-be graduate cinema and television directing student Maranda Teutsch will receive $2,500 toward her studies at Columbia College Chicago.

Teutsch has been passionate about filmmaking ever since she was younger. She saw this scholarship as an opportunity to engage in her interests and send a strong message advocating against distracted driving.

When talking about her passion for filmmaking in her essay, she said her mom inspired her from a young age.

"She was a stay-at-home mom when I was a kid and was always finding ways to make fun, creative projects we could engage with. Between her ability to create these immersive adventures for me and my friends and her help in making my first video with Barbies, there was simply no way I couldn't become passionate about filmmaking."

When she's not working or doing homework, Teutsch still engages in her passion by making videos. She enjoys making funny videos which can be seen in the character she plays in her Anti-Distracted Driving PSA video. In her video submission, she chose to focus on how distractions have changed throughout the years because of her love for reenacting different eras of time.

She also wanted to emphasize how dangers have changed throughout the years. In her video, she uses old footage, several creative props, and changes outfits for all the decades she represents.

After graduation, Teutsch's goal is to become an independent filmmaker, and she hopes to get a job in the film industry so she can pay off her student loans and do what she loves.
Morris Bart is proud to award this passionate filmmaker with $2,500 to use toward her college studies.
