On August 31, 2009, Peplin, Inc. (“Peplin”) issued a press release and filed an Appendix 4E (the
“Appendix”) with the Australian Securities Exchange, reporting, among other things, its income
statement and consolidated statement of cash flows for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2009 and
balance sheet as of June 30, 2009. A copy of the press release is furnished herewith as Exhibit
