Item 8.01 Other Events.

On July 20, 2007, Erie Indemnity Company issued a press release stating that Elizabeth Hirt Vorsheck was named a new individual trustee of the H.O. Hirt Trusts on July 19, 2007. The election was a unanimous decision by the trustees and the Erie Indemnity Company Board of Directors. Ms. Vorsheck replaces her father, F. William Hirt, who died Friday, July 13. See the press release attached as Exhibit 99.1 herein.
