Item 5.02.                                          Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.

 

On July 31, 2005, Labor Ready, Inc. (the “Company”) was informed of the death of director Carl W. Schafer, who passed away on July 30, 2005.  Mr. Schafer served as a director of the Company since September 1999 and will be greatly missed.  He served on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and was the Chair of the Audit Committee.  Robert Sullivan was recently named Co-Chair of the Audit Committee and will continue as the sole Chair of that committee.  The Board of Directors is expected to name an additional member to the Audit Committee at its next regular meeting.
