BlackRock deal may pay for Barclays' ambitions

Barclays has always been the big British bank that never quite could when it came to investment banking. Now, it’s getting close, very close, as BlackRock's deal for Barclays Global Investors gives the seller the business momentum and financial wherewithal to pursue other opportunities.
