By: Issuewire

Richmond, Dec 11, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - National Civil Rights Attorney Lee Merritt announces the launch of a new nonprofit organization, Limitless Resource, designed to serve as a larger platform for victims of state sanctioned injustice and their families.

Limitless Resource is structured around those families who have seen their lives turned upside down after losing a loved one to police violence and social injustice, among these families are Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Atatiana Jefferson, and Botham Jean. The nonprofit includes four main initiatives:

To be an Emotional Resource: A program to be structured around mental health services for families immediately after a tragedy and continuing long-term. The goal is to empower and support comprehensive healing. Assistance will range from social work, therapy, support groups, and psychiatric support.

To be a Financial Resource: A program to be structed around fundraising, healthy spending, tax filing, credit building, and management of personal, business, and nonprofit funding.

To be an Advocacy Resource: A program to be structured around supporting efforts to seek justice, inform the public, and help families form their own nonprofits and organizations for their loved ones. This program will strategize and create digital campaigns, petitions, and provide demonstration details.

To be a Community Resource: A program to be structured around hosting mentorship programs, community events and toy drives, and hosting panels on training future legal observers. Limitless Resource will partner with other organizations to support these efforts nationally.

Limitless Resource has already put together an all-inclusive restorative retreat for impacted families to enjoy a vacation filled with celebrity entertainers, food, games, spa services and a White and Gold ball in the Spring of 2021.

Attorney Lee Merritt will act as President on the board. Other members of the organization will include: Shatonna Nelson (Chief Executive Officer), Dominic Kalms (Chief Philanthropy Officer), Dr. Ish Major (Chief Medical Officer), Alyssa Gruber (Director of Emotional Health), Atley Joseph (Director of Technology), Saraya Hamidi (Director of Advocacy), Attorney Blerim Elmazi (Compliance Officer), Susan Mitchell (Administrator of Nonprofit) and Duane Merritt (Security Compliance Officer).

Statement from Founder, Attorney Lee Merritt:

"Limitless Resource (LR) is a powerful new tool in the fight against racial oppression and state sponsored violence. Our organization brings critical relief to communities impacted by brutality and injustice.

When a police officer kills under the color of state authority a network of personnel, safeguards, protocols and agencies are triggered for the protection of the officer and their department. LR responds to the devastation caused by police violence with a concentration of services directed at impacted families and communities.

Beginning with victims and their families-- LR deploys critical trauma recovery services geared to address the unique circumstances of state sponsored violence. LR assists families in gaining their bearings by surrounding them with a community of professionals and survivors with the tools, strategies and experience necessary to guide them through their darkest days. As families and communities are stabilized LR concentrates on planting roots within the various regions to ensure subsequent direct action is both sustainable and successful. Impacted groups are connected to powerful legal representation, public officials and community organizers with proven methods for successfully pursuing justice.

LR will walk alongside families to ensure they receive the mental health services, practical needs, community support and justice they deserve."
