SG Holdings Grooms Young Talents

Abeokuta, Oct 20, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - In a bid to advance quality education in Nigeria, SG Holdings, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education has commenced an annual quiz competition among secondary school students in Ogun State.

The competition which is aimed at discovering talented students and encouraging students to strive for academic excellence is currently running in public and private secondary schools. The competition will run simultaneously in two streams, Junior and Senior categories. Over 2,000 students participated in the first batch. The first batch for both streams has been concluded for both categories. The successful students will move on to the next phase of the competition which is computer-based.

The competition will reward the top 6 students in each category with the winner and top 2 runners-up in the senior category taking home a cash prize of 1 Million Naira, Seven hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira and Five Hundred Thousand Naira respectively while the last 3 runners-up will take home a cash prize of One Hundred Thousand Naira each. The winner and top 2 runners up in the junior category will take home a cash prize of Seven Hundred and Fifty thousand Naira, Five Hundred thousand Naira, and Three Hundred thousand Naira respectively while the last three runners up will receive One Hundred-thousand-naira cash prize each.

In addition to the student prizes, the school of the overall best students in both categories will receive a donation of educational hardware equipment worth NGNSeven Hundred and Fifty Thousand each.

The overall best students in both categories will be crowned SG holdings ambassador and will be crowned with a commemorative shield and decorated.

The project Manager - Miss Damilola Adegbesote whilst flagging off the program advised all the students to ensure they give their very best and be counted among the best always. According to her, the core objective of the programme is to identify the best talents among the Youths for a national competition.
