Utah.Gov Receives Grade A Rating in Digital States Survey

Utah.Gov, the official website of the State of Utah, received a grade A rating from the Center for Digital Government in the 2018 Digital States survey. The biennial survey is the industry’s leading evaluation of the technology practices of all 50 states. The survey highlights the best and emerging technology practices that serve as models for providing online services for state residents.

“This is the most exhaustive evaluation of digital services provided across the country," said Michael Hussey, Utah Chief Information Officer. "The survey validates Utah’s use of technology to improve service delivery, increase capacity, streamline operations and reach policy goals.”

States that receive a Grade A rating are ahead of other states in the innovative use of technology solutions. Grade A states’ online solutions show results across all survey categories and are used to realize operational efficiencies and strategic priorities through meaningful collaboration across state agencies. Only four states were given an A grade this year. Utah has received an A grade every year since the survey started giving out grades in 2010.

“Utah was recognized for its leadership in creating a platform for serving Utah residents,” said David Fletcher, Utah Chief Technology Officer. “Our approach allows Utah to expand the gap ahead of other states while providing useful online services.”

The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government.
