Connecticut Continues Serving Those Who Served

With Veterans Day fast approaching, The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) wants to remind residents about their redesigned website, https://portal.ct.gov/dva, along with the veteran-focused mobile app, CTVeterans Mobile Application.

The redesigned website covers a broad range of services and support for veterans. On the agency homepage, users will find navigation directed to several of the most commonly accessed veteran services such as benefits, residential & recovery programs, donations & volunteering, and programs & services. Paired with the navigation is a new topic search feature that gives website visitors a more refined veteran-specific, topic-based search. Users are also able to select their personalized preference for viewing site information through list or simple view options.

Along with the new layout and features, the redesigned website utilizes a mobile-first, responsive design, which provides a user-friendly experience across phone, tablet, and desktop devices. The new website also continues to make services more accessible for online visitors to conduct business with the DVA through increased usability, customer service, transparency, and accessibility.

The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs mobile app ‘CTVeterans’ allows Connecticut veterans and residents to access crisis assistance by phone, text, and online chat. CT DVA services are available through the app menu, including an interactive map of veterans clinics and hospitals in Connecticut. The application will allow users quick access to:

  • Crisis assistance by phone, text message, and online chat
  • Veterans benefits and services
  • Healthcare and hospitals
  • Housing
  • Businesses and jobs
  • Supporting a veteran information
  • Flag status
  • Connecting with DVA on social media

“The CTVeterans mobile app continues to be a very important mobile application offering for State of Connecticut veterans and their families,” said Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Thomas J. Saadi. “We are continually making efforts to provide veterans with access to the services and support they need, and making it easier to access this information from anywhere is a tremendous step in these efforts.”

The CTVeterans mobile app is free to download from the iTunes Apple Store and Google Play on Apple and Android devices, respectively. The application can also be downloaded through the DVA website at CTVeterans Mobile Application.
