Olympic Steel’s Andrew F. Wolfort Promoted to Regional Vice President

Olympic Steel Inc. (Nasdaq: ZEUS), a leading national metals service center, announced the promotion of Andrew F. Wolfort to the position of Regional Vice President.

Wolfort joined Olympic Steel in 2007 as an Inside Sales Representative for the Company’s Chicago location and was then promoted to Outside Sales Representative. In 2010, he relocated to Olympic Steel’s Bettendorf, Iowa facility where he was promoted to Inside Sales Manager. The following year, he assumed the position of Regional Sales Manager at the Company’s Gary, Indiana facility, and, in 2015, Wolfort was promoted to the position of General Manager – Chicago Division.

“Andrew’s leadership has been instrumental in the success and recent expansion of our Chicago facility,” said Andy Markowitz, President – Specialty Metals. “His diverse commercial and operations experience in both the flat rolled and specialty metals market segments provide an excellent foundation to increase sales and market share throughout the Chicago and Northwest Indiana region.”

In this expanded role, Wolfort remains General Manager of Olympic Steel’s Chicago Division, while assuming additional oversight responsibility for the Company’s Gary, Indiana facility. Scott Besunder, General Manager – Gary, will report directly to Wolfort. In his new role, Wolfort will report to Markowitz.

Wolfort attended the University of Colorado Boulder, Leeds School of Business where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and finance. He is also a graduate of the Metals Service Center Institute’s Strategic Metals Management program at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Wolfort is President of the MSCI Central States Chapter and has been a chapter board member since 2015.
