On 23 May, Monspace held a major event celebrating three occasions: Monspace Brave Day, Pesta Ramadhan, and a charity concert for the SJC 1000 days project. The exciting event also featured a Ramadhan market which provided free flow food and drinks to all participants at the event, making it feel extra festive.

The 3-in-1 event started off with the premiere of footages from Dato Sri’ Jessy Lai’s Charity Honeymoon Trip. Attendants of the event got to see a short video of what happened at each stop of the charity honeymoon trip, including Kg. Pugi in Sabah, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam. This was especially relevant since Ramadhan is all about understanding the sufferings of those who are less fortunate than us. Several new music videos by Monspace was also showcased.

To lighten the mood after that, the event also had live music and a clown performance. Soon, it was about time for our Muslim friends to break fast. Monspace invited Ustaz Khairullah on stage to lead the Muslim attendants in prayer, while non-muslims respectfully observed the prayer in silence. It was a great show of harmony and unity, as Muslims and non-muslims gather to feast together.

Then it was time to enter the main highlight of the event—the charity concert. The event had artists such as Ellisan, Crystal, and Amy perform live for the audience. The songs choices were especially considerate of the multiracial crowd, since there were Malay, Chinese, and English songs performed. The crowd was also entertained by traditional dance performances, presented by talented dancers who mesmerised everyone who was present.

After all the fun and entertainment, Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai reminded the audience that while they are enjoying and celebrating life, we must also extend a helping hand to those in need. That’s when she introduced SJC 1000 days, a project to deliver appropriate nutrition to underprivileged children in their first 1000 days, as malnutrition during this period has very adverse effects on children.

Hoping to set an example, Lai gave out gifts to all children present, and to representatives of nursing homes. After all, it has always been a Monspace tradition to give to the needy during festive season. Lai’s belief is that everyone deserves to celebrate and be happy, regardless of their circumstance.

The event ended on a high with a viewing of a charity music video, titled: The Warmest Love for the Best Children. Safe to say, attendants of the event not only had a fun-filled night and a great feast, many were also inspired to do their part for the needy around us.
