Grand County, Colorado Citizens Can Skip the Trip to DMV with Gov2Go

Grand County, Colorado citizens now have more options to not leave their homes or offices to renew vehicle tags with Gov2Go, the nation’s first personal assistant for government. By downloading Gov2Go, citizens can receive renewal reminders and renew their vehicle tags from the convenience of their cell phones.

“Interacting with government should be fast and easy,” said Sara Rosene, Grand County Clerk and Recorder. “Many of us live in Grand County because we love the outdoors and all the recreational opportunities. Gov2Go lets our citizens use the technology they already have in their hands to perform transactions without taking time away from recreational or cultural activities or just relaxing.”

After users download Gov2Go and create profiles, they’ll receive reminders when their vehicle tags are due and will have the ability to complete the transaction online. Users can show their stored electronic receipts, if needed, until their vehicle tags arrive in the mail.

A unique feature of Gov2Go is that it isn’t just a single-purpose application. “Gov2Go is a platform that makes it easier for citizens to interact with government on all levels,” said Colorado Interactive President and General Manager, Fred Sargeson. “Although users will initially see its convenience for handling vehicle registration renewals, Gov2Go will help them stay on top of election and voter information, government holidays, receive AMBER Alerts and purchase digital passes for select federal parks.”

Available in all 50 states, the Gov2Go platform is designed to expand and adapt with future technologies. Grand County is bringing Gov2Go to its citizens through Colorado Interactive (CI) and the Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA). The CI/SIPA partnership provides governments with an easy-to-adopt platform that puts citizens at the center of government and delivers on-demand convenience.
