PM World Library to provide a global resource for continuous learning related to Project, Program and Portfolio Management
PRLog - Feb. 6, 2014 - Dallas, London, Sydney – PM World has officially announced the availability of the PM World Library (PMWL), a new online resource for those engaged in managing programs, projects and portfolios around the world. Under development for the past year as an archive for works published in the PM World Journal (PMWJ), the new library is intended to provide a global resource for continuous learning in the program/project management (P/PM) field. The new PMWL can be found at www.pmworldlibrary.net.
According to David Pells, PMWJ Managing Editor, “We wanted to archive PMWJ articles and papers in a more meaningful way, and to provide ongoing visibility and recognition for the authors who create those new works. So phase one of the new library is focused on PMWJ authors and contents.”
“We also wanted to create a larger resource, so we are modeling the PMWL after a traditional library,” he added. “In the near future, let’s call it phase 2, we will be adding access to other publications, databases and information from public and private sources worldwide. The concept is to produce a truly global source of educational information related to managing programs and projects, especially for those working in organizations, conditions and locations where better project management is needed.”
Like most libraries, access to the new library requires membership. Free access is offered to recent PMWJ authors, students, residents of low-income countries, hardship cases and others. For most, there is a small fee, about the cost of a cup of coffee per month. The PMWL already includes over a thousand works by hundreds of authors from various countries, including some of the world’s leading experts. Working with authors and publishers of P/PM knowledge worldwide, access to additional resources will be added on a continuous basis.
