A Tale of High Stakes and Unimaginable Consequences Are Found in Tim Johnson’s, Savannah.

By: PRLog
Written primarily as journal excerpts, follow the journey of Michael Taylor as he goes from being a nobody to winning high stakes games, wearing expensive clothes and driving high end cars to heart-breaking and soul-crushing lows.
PRLog - Jun 20, 2013 - HAMPSTEAD, Md. -- A letter to Susie Taylor from her brother Michael sends her running for her life. The letter reveals that the Russian mob is after her as a result of some ill-informed decisions that her brother made. All he can say is “I’m sorry” and do his best to explain to his baby sister how everything went so terribly wrong. This gripping tale infuses high stakes poker with a man’s attempt to gain what he never had growing up.

Michael Taylor began playing poker in his garage, but was soon uninterested with his measly winnings. Looking to increase his poker earnings, Michael created a poker move named "Savannah" that helped him to cheat at poker by allowing him to sneak a peek at the cards as he dealt them out. The same move that enabled a lucrative lifestyle irrevocably sent Michael’s life spiraling back to the squalor where he began.

After being caught using Savannah in a poker room run by the Russian mob, Michael is ordered to pay $10,000 a month or his sister and girlfriend will be killed. A recent investigation finds Michael guilty of tax evasion and sends him to jail for three years leaving him with few options for paying the money. With only $10,000 left to his name, Michael knows he now only has one month to live and after his imminent murder, his sister will be next. He sends a letter warning her to go into hiding.

In prison, he writes a journal, which he also names Savannah and which includes the events leading up to his death, hoping to explain to his loved ones what happened.

His bad decisions have caught up with him and now it threatens Susie’s life and the life of his girlfriend Melanie Cooper. Hopefully, the journal, which he slips to Melanie during her last prison visit, will give Susie what she needs to set everything right.

Tim Johnson was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and now lives outside of Toronto, Ontario. He is the proud father of five year old twin daughters. Savannah is his first novel, though not his last.
