Valen Private Capital today announced its launch as an independent advisory firm, dedicated to helping families ensure that wealth built over a lifetime continues to serve its intended purpose across generations.

The firm’s mission is disciplined stewardship: preserving accumulated capital, structuring thoughtfully for transition, and preparing the next generation to carry it forward.

Valen partners with individuals and families who have worked hard to build something intended to last, including founders after a business sale, families navigating ownership transitions between generations, executives with concentrated positions, and closely held businesses planning for what comes next.

Valen Private Capital is led by Founder & Managing Partner John P. Durham, J.D., LL.M., who has more than 25 years of experience advising affluent families on the complexities of substantial wealth, including investment management, tax strategy, estate and philanthropic planning, and executive compensation. Prior to founding Valen, Mr. Durham served as Senior Vice President at Merrill Lynch and held senior advisory roles at Coho Partners and Delaware Investments.
