On February 24, 2010, Whiting Petroleum Corporation issued a press release announcing its financial and operating results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2009 and providing certain guidance for the first quarter of 2010 and full year 2010.  A copy of such press release is furnished as Exhibit 99 and is incorporated by reference herein.
